Singapore-based Leisure Ventures is jointly owned by Hotel Properties of Singapore and Ong Beng Seng, managing director of HPL and the man behind London’s Metropolitan and Halkin hotels.
An HPL spokesman says the first Hard Rock resort, costing 46m, is already under construction in Bali and due to open early next year. The design has been handled internally.
The architectural team of Anthony Blee and Kevin Dash has submitted a planning application to turn the Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society building in London’s Bloomsbury Square into a luxury 125m hotel.
Malory Clifford, director of property group Blackfriars Investments, bought Victoria House, a 37 000m2 listed building, earlier this year for 30m.
