Tidy Graphics’ ethnic look for Komodo label

Tidy Graphics has completed a labelling redesign for international ethnic “streetwear” label Komodo, as worn by Jay from top UK funk band Jamiroquai.

The project has included developing an ethnically inspired typeface for the brand’s clothes labelling (shown above). There has also been design work on a range of swing tags for Komodo merchandise, which is retailed at 20 UK outlets and in other international markets.

The redesign is the latest in a string of street fashion design projects won by Tidy Graphics founders Keith Wilson and Tim Harling since they launched in September 1996.

The pair have now established themselves in office space in Finsbury Park, London, after winning a loan from Prince Charles’ Youth Business Trust last November.

“The loan allowed us to buy computer equipment at a time when we were still working from home,” says Harling. Both graduated in graphic design from Southampton Institute last year.
