Presso, a hand-operated home espresso machine designed and produced by Therefore, hits stores next month. It operates by pressing pre-boiled hot water through the coffee grounds using lever arms. Therefore creative director and Presso designer Patrick Hunt says there is a gap in the market for a ‘low cost, simple-to-use’ espresso machine. ‘Regular stove-top coffee pots operate at too low a pressure and scald the coffee with boiling water,’ he says. Therefore has set up a limited company to bring the product to market.
