Creactive to roll out train designs

Creactive Design is to refurbish Chiltern Railways’ entire fleet of trains and design interiors for a fleet of new trains as the operator gears up for a £150m spend on rolling stock following a 20-year extension to its rail franchise.

The consultancy has also completed designs of a fleet of taxi buses for Chiltern Railways, which launch in April. The work included branding, interiors, signage and staff uniforms.

The buses will operate between Bicester North in Oxfordshire, residential estates on the edge of Bicester and outlying villages to connect with the station at Bicester. A similar bus-link will be introduced in Aylesbury next year.

The consultancy will begin designing interiors for seven new train coaches this summer. The operator will bring in new coaches on a rolling programme. The refurbishment of the existing fleet will begin in September.

Chiltern Railways was awarded a 20-year extension by the Strategic Rail Authority to operate the Chiltern Line this week.
