Giant founder joins The Chase

Marsteller Giant creative director Alan Herron has left the group to join award-winning Manchester design group The Chase.

Herron, who co-founded Giant 15 years ago, wanted a change, says director of design services Mark Rollinson.

“We wish him well because he’s a brilliant designer,” he says. “Financially the merger with Burson Marsteller has been a big success. It’s a shame Alan felt he needed a new challenge.”

Herron had been obligated to remain with the consultancy for two years after the 1997 merger, but has been released early by Burson Marsteller.

Marsteller Giant will not replace Herron directly and has recently advertised for a senior designer with five years experience.

Herron starts as a director at The Chase next month. The group, which has 40 staff at its Manchester base, also has offices in Preston and Leeds and a client list which includes the National Football Museum, and retailers KwikSave and Co-Operative Retail Services.
