Bad timing to move World Creative Forum out of London

Your recent Vox Pop question (DW 14 July) asked about the potential of the World Creative Forum to promote UK design at home and abroad if it is based outside London. The forum could potentially change the way that design is perceived throughout the UK, because it will be staged at the same time as a response from Chancellor Gordon Brown, in the Autumn Budget, to recommendations expected imminently from the Cox Report. I think it is very sad that this event is now not being staged in London.

If it is to become an ‘international programme’ then it must trumpet the power, pre-eminence and cohesiveness of the UK’s creative industries.
