Attik seeks ‘hands-on’ successor

The Attik’s screen titles division is to add a second producer to its line up, after the departure of account director Kate Irving.

Irving, previously managing director of Plume, left the London consultancy in mid-March to join marketing services agency Chambers Culross Barrow, immediately after helping in The Attik’s purchase of Plume (DW 13 March).

Irving says she is committed to the merger, but the “timing was wrong” for her; Tim Watson was already managing director of The Attik in London, and there wasn’t room for two.

Richard Morrison, creative director of The Attik’s moving image business, says the “producer” role is the screen graphics equivalent of account handling.

“Kate’s role was more managerial and we don’t need that at The Attik. We need hands-on people,” he says. “It’s all quite amicable. It’s a shame, but it wasn’t to be.”

Irving joined Plume last June from Rodney Fitch & Co where she was managing director. Before that she was at Coley Porter Bell. “If this [job] doesn’t work, I’m going to the US,” she says.
