Glasgow 1999 events unveiled

The events programme for Glasgow 1999, to celebrate the city’s year as UK City of Architecture and Design, has been finalised.

The Big Design Day in May will feature food, fashion and cars; and in November an International Festival of Design is planned.

New public spaces are planned, and exhibitions, lectures, films and workshops will run all year. “The aim is to make architecture and design enjoyable and accessible to a wide public audience by offering a huge events programme which will leave the city with a lasting legacy,” says Glasgow 1999 director Deyan Sudjic.
