Crockart develops his future plans

CDT Design’s long-serving director and creative partner Iain Crockart is to quit the consultancy after 15 years to pursue a career in photography.

Crockart leaves at the end of the year, but will work with CDT on a consultative basis until the end of March 2003.

He was instrumental in designing identities for Our Price and V.Shop and also revamped the Radio Times. CDT director and creative partner Neil Walker says, ‘Iain is a phenomenal designer and we will be sorry to see him go.’

Crockart comments, ‘I have had an amazing time at CDT. I now want to take a different creative path and establish myself as a location photographer with a graphic eye.’

His departure will result in CDT’s third generation of creative associates, Christian Altmann, Gene Cooke and Stuart Youngs, assuming greater client and studio responsibilities.

Walker adds the move will have minimal structural or strategic impact on the consultancy. ‘We will continue to feed more junior staff through to prominent positions. It’s a process that has been happening for the past six to 12 months,’ he explains.
