David Richmond at Debenhams

David Richmond Associates is designing a corporate identity and packaging for handbag designer Bill Amberg, following his appointment to the Designers at Debenhams collection.

Amberg, who will be providing products for the accessories department, follows 13 other designers including Jasper Conran, Kelly Hoppen and Ben De Lisi, all of whom have had identities created by DRA.

In line with previous briefs, DRA was asked to create an identity unique to Debenhams, which would both complement existing designers’ graphic look and reflect Bill Amberg’s individuality and personality.

The resulting logo consists of the designer’s initials with the number 2 integrated into the A, clearly distinguishing the products as belonging to the Debenhams collection.

The Designers at Debenhams logo, also created by DRA, will be on the reverse side of tickets.

Designers at Debenhams started in 1996 with the aim of giving customers designer collections less expensive than the designers’ own labels. The three different sections of the collection are clothing, accessories and homewares.
