Millennium product latest

The Design Council has elevated a further 200 products to millennium status in the third tranche of its Millennium Products initiative.

Many of the latest products to make the grade will be featured in the Millennium Experience displays at the Greenwich Dome, and range from the drug Viagra to a BioAcoustic Fish Fence.

Trade and Industry Secretary Stephen Byers describes it as a varied list which reflects the talent and innovation within Britain. All the products have been produced within the last five years.

Other items selected by the Design Council include a shopping trolley with magnetic brakes and reusable mushroom packaging.

Entries are invited by the Design Council from companies of any size from all sectors. The closing date for the next round of submissions is 30 June.
