IBM takes on a winner, but forgets it’s Monday

Perhaps mindful of the dangers of hubristic introductory websites and newt-fingered imitators (see Diary, DW 1 August), IBM is publicising its acquisition of PwC Consulting with texty full-page ads in The Financial Times.

‘The ground rule of winning in business is to surround yourself with winners’, the copy reads. So, as you’ll have already gathered, no place on the victory rostrum for Wolff Olins’ brainchild Monday – being touted as the shortest-lived rebrand in history.

We’d love to know what the consultancy makes of it all, but no one wants to speak. Maybe they’re polishing off all those surplus bagels? Must be pretty stale though.
