North East designers come up against free-pitching too

However some of our regional initiatives appear to fail to recognise this pool of creative talent and take a more unethical approach to the placement of projects.

Over the past few weeks we have been asked to pitch on two regional, publicly-funded initiatives, providing proposed names, logo treatments, marketing and budgetary plans and first-stage visuals in multi-stage tenders.

Renwick is right when he says there is something wrong when a region can’t support its wealth of talent. It can, but not on a free-of-charge basis.
