Benetton ‘megastore’ concept for London

Benetton is opening its largest UK “megastore” in London’s Oxford Circus, featuring the interiors concept pioneered at its first larger-format store, launched in Cardiff in October.

The megastore concept, which originated in Milan, will be rolled out at other UK sites this year, understood to include Southampton, Birmingham and Manchester. The London store is scheduled to open at the end of April.

Designed in-house at Benetton, the Oxford Circus interiors will be “along the same lines” as the Cardiff store, according to a Benetton spokeswoman.

The store is designed to be spacious and clean-looking to help the clothes stand out. It includes design features such as marble flooring and a large central chrome lift.

The walls and ceiling are painted white and leather seating is incorporated into the men’s and women’s changing areas.

The children’s clothing area features a foam playmat and PVC tubes hung from the ceiling for young customers to play on.
