Four IV reductions at new Harvey Nichols

Four IV has been appointed to create boutique style stores for Harvey Nichols, the first of which is due to launch in Birmingham this autumn.

The high fashion retailer plans to build a national chain of ten boutiques branded Harvey Nichols HN. The brand is designed to take it into smaller sites. For instance, the Birmingham outlet will total 1200m2 against the 8400m2 area of the Edinburgh flagship, which is due to open next summer. Four IV is also creating the retail vision for Edinburgh (DW 27 October).

Four IV, which has worked on Harvey Nichols design projects since 1993, won the project following a pitch against four unnamed consultancies.

The consultancy will be designing all aspects of the boutiques, from interiors to signage and branding. The first Harvey Nichols HN will launch in Birmingham’s latest development, the Mailbox Mall, this October. It will feature an edited choice of Harvey Nichols’ product mix, covering mens and womenswear, food, cosmetics, accessories and a café.

“We will draw on the design vision we are developing for the Edinburgh store to create a fresh tailored concept that will work well for the smaller sites,” says Four IV managing director Chris Dewar Dixon.
