Classic Locomotives Royal Mail Special Stamps

Classic Locomotives is the latest set of Royal Mail Special Stamps by Roundel, commemorating 200 years of steam rail travel. The six stamps feature photography by John Wildgoose depicting classic steam engines that still run on preserved railways in the UK. Roundel director Mike Denny says the group’s challenge was to create simple designs that met Royal Mail’s brief of showing steam trains in their natural environment; a landscape format complements the subject and photography.
