Springpoint gives a boost to tourist trade

Springpoint has created an identity for the English Tourist Council, the newly formed body charged with making England a world force in tourism

The English Tourist Council has launched, with a corporate identity created by Springpoint, charged with making England a world force in tourism.

The ETC is funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and will become the leading body for co-ordinated efforts to increase tourism. It replaces the English Tourist Board which has carried out a similar function for the past 30 years.

The identity is based on an angled representation of the George Cross, encompassing the organisation’s name. Springpoint founding partner and creative director Mark Pearce says: “The angled movement in this marque has been developed to create a whole visual language, resulting in a very strong visual identity for this new body.”

ETC director of communications Robyn Griffith-Jones says: “The new logo is clear, striking and associates us with our raison d’être – England.”
