Capital Radio signals move to Leicester Square

Capital Radio has finalised plans to move from its Euston Tower headquarters in London to a site in Leicester Square. Morey Smith Associates is in the process of creating design concepts.

The consultancy has been working on the project for six months and will apply for planning permission to reclad the exterior of the 1950s landmark building next week.

“There will be a lot of structural work involved in the project as we plan to make the most of the exterior to brand the building for Capital,” says consultancy managing director Linda Morey Smith.

The 3065m2 building will accommodate 150 people, with on-air studios and production facilities. The consultancy is also designing the interiors. The project is due for completion by June 1996.
