Absolut Vodka persuaded the club to allow portrait artist Howard Morgan to paint this scene as part of its promotion, and elitist members needed a lot of persuading, according to an Absolut spokeswoman. Unfortunately, Absolut’s efforts are almost unrewarded – can you see a hint of vodka in this picture? ‘It’s somewhere on the table if you look closely, it’s subtle that’s all,’ says Absolut. Perhaps ‘token’ is the word.
