Lighting consultancy Jonathan Speirs & Associates is designing lighting for an Italian royal palace around 30km east of Naples.

Appointed to light the facades of the Reggia di Caserta, the consultancy is also lighting the 3km of water gardens and creating proposals for occasional son et lumiere displays. Speirs is working with local architects Enzo Cuccaro and Fillipo Cannata.

Regarded as one the architectural jewels of Italy, the palace hosted the G7 summit of world leaders last year. The work will start in the autumn and is due for completion within two years.
