Rodd Industrial keeps it clean

Rodd Industrial Design has created Steam Mate, an industrial cleaning product, for Ashby’s Specialist Cleaning.

The product, which launches next week, has been in development for the past 12 months.

Tim Rodd says, “This is Ashby’s first time using designers to create a product. We’re hoping that this project has given the company confidence in the process.”

The consultancy was asked to develop a strong visual identity which could be carried through the rest of the range. Rodd will work on a number of Ashby’s product ranges. The project is expected to run over the next five years. Rodd comments, “Prior to the Steam Mate, Ashby had been importing from the US and then having to modify heavily to get the specifications improved.”

Rodd is also working on a number of projects relating to the revamp of Earl’s Court underground station.

Building on a longstanding relationship with London Underground, the consultancy is to provide speaker mounts and other platform furniture.

In addition, it is working on new information points for the District Line.
