The Arts Council has announced awards of Lottery cash to a further 54 projects around the country. The awards total more than 20m.

They include a 2.05m grant to the Tricycle Theatre in London’s Kilburn to provide a cinema, a visual arts room for children and an enlarged foyer.

The theatre has appointed Tim Foster Architects to design the extension to its existing site.

ACME, an agency which aims to establish low-cost studios and housing for artists, has been awarded a Lottery grant to acquire the freehold of a former fire station near the Blackwell Tunnel in London.
