Decimal point of order at Science Museum

I write in response to an article and letter (DW 16 May). The article on our new gallery at the Science Museum – The Challenge of Materials – incorrectly puts the cost of the gallery at 34.5m. Although the sponsors have indeed been generous, there is an error in the positioning of the decimal point.

The letter I comment upon is by Giles Velarde. Although he may upset some people, he has many supporters and I am one of them. Indeed, in all my dealings with the National Heritage Lottery to do with museums, great emphasis is placed on a coordination between interior and exterior, so the helicopter people should beware.
