Vignelli’s dream is ultimate Italian job

Over the past 30 years Italian-born design guru Massimo Vignelli has turned his hand to just about everything, from airline identities to packaging, posters and newspaper grids.

But there’s one project left which he’s dying to get his teeth into: the identity for the Vatican.

“My dream is to design the corporate image,” he says wistfully. “I wouldn’t touch the cross, though I might standardise the proportions.”
