Magic of Christmas is what’s stifling creativity

Ah, Christmas. Dry turkey and hangovers. Mistletoe and broken glass. Dodgy fairy lights and mess on the floor. What does Christmas mean to you?

The Rainbow School for Autistic Children has joined forces with top design and ad creatives for a series of digital advent calendars, which can be found at

Responding to the brief, the creatives, including Trevor Beattie and David Stuart, came up with predictable (read boring) responses, which included angels, baby Jesus and star.

However, there were some real gems: Elf (what’s petrol got to do with it?), animals (less said about that one the better) and bearded santa (as opposed to the clean shaven variety). Creativity. What’s that?
