Conran Design Group is creating a fresh format for Abbey National’s new branch at Bluewater shopping centre, focusing on customer accessibility.
If the format is successful, “they will want to convert [Abbey National’s 800] existing sites”, says CDG business development director Peers de TrensÃ©.
The consultancy has created an environment which reflects the organisation’s friendly, straightforward approach, says a CDG spokeswoman, where browsing is encouraged. “The new branch design is going to shake up the marketplace,” says de TrensÃ©. The identity remains unchanged.
This is CDG’s first retail project for the client, following its work on customer literature.
