Complete protection

The flurry of designer hair salons continues with another one this week in London’s Exmouth Market, this time inspired by a medical theme.

But it’s not just interiors which have gone high-tech. Jephson Robb has developed the award-winning Robbo Neck Guard, to stop hair clippings and shampooey water slipping down the back of the client’s neck. The guard is made of ‘easy stretch rubber’ – nice to be able to come up with a pun on your own name.

Selected as part of Glasgow 1999 initiative The Glasgow Collection, clients claimed in tests that the Robbo was ‘so comfortable they forgot they had it on’, but ‘so good they wouldn’t forget they had worn it’. Sounds like a strapline for a different sort of protective rubber product altogether
