Caulder Moore stepping out

Caulder Moore has been appointed to develop a new identity and branding for C&J Clark subsidiary K-Shoes. A number of trial Clarks stores developed by the group have been operating since late last year.

Caulder Moore has been given the task of repositioning the K-Shoe brand by developing a contemporary look for its 97 stores, graphics and packaging. The group’s design will also be applied to the soles of shoes and tags inside them. The new look will be unveiled in autumn of this year.

The appointment comes hot on the heels of the latest report from retail consultant Verdict, which says traditional shoe retailers should invest in store design if they are to fight off increasing competition from fashion chains such as Next and River Island.

“Clarks, Stead & Simpson and Olivers are all looking to invest in their store environments,” says Verdict research manager Clive Vaughan. “It should be a quantum leap forward.”
