Matt Marsh has been seconded from Ideo Product Development to the Design Council for nine months to look at how the council relates to its partners and constituents. As Ideo’s former head of user observation in San Francisco and now part of the European marketing team, he will help Design Council director of design and innovation Clive Grinyer to develop ‘tools’ to help organisations get a better grasp of design. The council is ‘refunding’ Marsh’s salary, says Design Council chief executive Andrew Summers. Summers adds that this could be the first of several secondments.
