Students are circulating a very old design idea
Was the article about Tomato stealing their designs for Channel 4’s identity (DW 17 January) just a publicity stunt, or do Wilson and Kenny believe that they have redesigned the wheel or the circle?
I designed a group directory (pictured) last year, which was turned down by my client Cable & Wireless. Two weeks later Channel 4’s identity emerged and I thought what a nice piece of work.
It remains only to say that circles are round and they’ll be around for ever, and there’s only so many ways you can draw them.
