Acrobatix opens new media arm

Hertfordshire graphics group Acrobatix is to set up a new media arm in London, named Sub(city). The operation goes live on 10 August.

Sub(city) will start life as a one-person operation, but should expand quite quickly, according to Acrobatix senior designer Mark Thornicroft. He says the group has someone lined up to head the new operation, but cannot yet disclose his or her identity for contractual reasons.

Sub(city) will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Acrobatix, the group owned by directors Chris Bennett and Chris Greenhough. It will specialise in

CD-ROMs, websites and three-dimensional work.

“Sub(city) will pass on print work to Acrobatix, which, in turn, will pass its multimedia work on to Sub(city),” says Thornicroft.

“We are aware that some new media groups have gone under recently, but we have some good client contacts and are going to take one step at a time,” he adds.
