Watch out if you rate your town above Kidderminster. A Business Link could be on its way to you.

That, at least, was the promise made by Michael Heseltine last week at the Royal College of Art. With 74 Links up and running as he spoke, Hezza reaffirmed his pledge of 200 by the end of 1995.

“Every town bigger than Kidderminster,” he said. But he never said how he would measure it.

Our bet’s on towns with more characters in their names, which should narrow the field (that’s characters as in letters, not personalities). Shame about York, Hull and Ely though. And London.
