Glasgow link could lead to happy families

Greater Glasgow Health Board has launched a telephone helpline for parents of, and carers for, teenagers in the city. Design of the Wavelength service’s identity and publicity material is by local consultancy Locofoco.

Locofoco’s solution is based on pictograms which suggest communication between adults and teenagers with the Wavelength service linking them.

The package of design work includes A3 posters, a leaflet, cards and an information sheet.

The concept behind the poster is to represent the lack of communication which commonly occurs at home between teenagers and their families.

Locofoco hired actors as models, briefing them about parental concerns to add to the realism of Alaisdair Smith’s photographs. The image was then digitally manipulated to extend the sofa, thereby creating a “no-man’s-land” between the family.
