Superdrug has launched Woundcare, its first redesigned own-brand products to carry the health chain’s new identity.

Nucleus Design, which completed Superdrug’s starfish logo last year, has rebranded the Woundcare range of 36 packs using “cartoons and humour”, says a spokeswoman for the group.

The packs are linked by cartoonist Paul Chambers’ character, who appears on the whole Wound- care range. “Nucleus counter- balanced the humour on the front with an informative and authoritative presentation of product information on the back,” the spokeswoman adds.

Other Superdrug ranges are likely to be repackaged to feature the new starfish identity. It is not known if Nucleus will do all the packaging design.

Nucleus has appointed Ruth Wales as its first finance director. Wales joined last year as financial controller. Ramon Blomfield, head of the group’s Lisbon outfit, joined the board in March.
