Light makeover of Apollo Victoria Theatre’s 1929 auditorium

The 1929 auditorium of the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London has been given an illuminating makeover by Hoare Lea Lighting.

The brief was to replace the two-colour 3500 GLS lamps with a system that allowed both colour changes and the integration of theatre lights with the house lights.

The design uses grand scale LEDs, nearly 1000 units in all, to light the exquisite detail of the Grade IIlisted building with a range of colours, according to lighting principal Dominic Meyrick. Hoare Lea Lighting was appointed by architect Jacques Muir and Partners.
