Ambulance Service calls CScape

A new nationwide campaign to reduce the time ambulances spend finding houses in an emergency call-out will be launched next week by the Ambulance Service NHS Trust. London design consultancy CScape has designed the posters and a website to support the campaign.

Entitled 999 Where Are You, the campaign will feature in schools and health centres across the country and is being supported by 34 ambulance services in the UK. The campaign was conceived by a paramedic working for the Avon Ambulance Service who found house numbers to be poorly displayed.

An average of one to two minutes are wasted on each call-out trying to find the house, says an Avon Ambulance Service spokeswoman.

One of the two posters will be aimed at children. “Children are very important because they will pressure parents into acting on the campaign,” says the spokeswoman.

CScape was appointed to look at designs that Avon Ambulance Service created, but upgraded the designs after discussions.
