Mintel looks at youth market

A report published this week by Mintel on the youth leisure sector puts the value of the “leisure out of home” market at £19bn in 2000, equivalent to a mighty £138 per person per week.

The report examines the trends in the 11.5m-strong 15-29 age group and forecasts a 4.5 per cent increase in spending by 2010.

The report follows a study published by London design group Pearlfisher and the Henley Centre, last week, on the future of youth branding.
