Thames Ditton consultancy Nucleus has created the look and feel of music giant EMI’s international marketing intranet.

EMI’s first global departmental intranet provides a tool for the distribution of artists’ release-based material and is currently being piloted, with a full launch forthcoming. The content-rich site supports all aspects needed to market an artist, from images from a photographic shoot to press releases, marketing plans and promotional guides.

Nucleus’ design approach was, according to creative director Suzanne Lykiard, to “keep the functionality side of it as simple as possible”. The consultancy gave the interface a distinctive look with a clear approach to navigation, presentation and information sharing.

The intranet allows for easy content management, both by editors and authors in EMI’s UK-based team and also contributions from users throughout the world via their browsers.

Nucleus was appointed by Workgroup Technology, the company responsible for developing and building the intranet.
