Presidential race speculators should study form

Designers, rather than the electoral college voting system, dodgy recounts or even Al and George themselves, are officially to blame for the shambolic presidential election in the US, according to Britain’s Ergonomics Society.

It claims the poor design of the ballot paper led, unsurprisingly, to bafflement among voters. Information design expert and society member Simon Rubens adds, ‘Confusion could have been avoided by creating a clearer link between party and candidate name on the one hand, and the right hole to be punched on the other. This would be a simple task for any graphic designer.’

Or maybe the great American public needs to be taught how to fill in a form properly.
