The third Design Mais, an exhibition focusing on Portuguese design, launches in London this week. Greenwich Village at Selfridges, Rabih Hage’s gallery space in King’s Cross, Thorsten Van Elten and Viaduct will showcase a variety of products ranging from ceramics, glass, furniture and lighting during November and December. The Selfridges component has a strong historical influence; Rabih Hage focuses on designs that unite traditional crafts with contemporary aesthetics; Van Elten takes a Minimalist approach; and Viaduct concentrates on furniture.
From the magic world of mushrooms, to design heavyweights and more, these are the design books we think you should read this autumn and winter.
Among the projects is a spatial audio technique that turns your living room into St Paul’s Cathedral and an AR app that fills your interiors with flowers.
From upcycled cabinets to a spotlight on Baltic design, we run down the can’t-miss exhibitions and trade shows at this year’s London Design Festival.
The new look “places Peter front and centre” according to the publishing house, and has been designed by studio CreateFuture.
