Architect Ushida Findlay was commissioned to come up with an organic, fluid design for Fibre, the touring exhibition of basketry recently staged at the Crafts Council. The practice appealed to the council first for its track record of organic architectural work, and second because it recognised that the show needed to appeal to a multi-disciplinary audience. The end result is a restrained approach which lets the spectacular baskets take centre stage.
