Fearns secures Audi award

Liberty Fearns of Ralph Allen School in Bath has won the Audi Young Designer of the Year 2004 award with a device to secure bags to tables in cafés and bars.

Liberty Fearns of Ralph Allen School in Bath has won the Audi Young Designer of the Year 2004 award with a device to secure bags to tables in cafés and bars.

Fearns, now studying product design at Central St Martins College of Art & Design, wins £10 000 towards college fees, a £500-a-year bursary, paid work experience at Virdev Design and a placement at Audi Design Studio in Germany.

The winner of Audi’s Mind to Market Award is Peter Kirkland from Northern Ireland for his A-level project – a digital compass clinometer to help geologists take rock measurements.
