UK Gear spring in the Army’s step

The British Army has made its first incursion into consumer products putting its name and expertise to a high performance training shoe, designed and marketed by sportswear company UK Gear.

The PT-03 shoe is branded with the army’s crossed swords identity on the underside of the tongue.

The trainer was designed by UK Gear managing director David Hinde, during a six-month consultation and testing process with the Army Physical Training Corps.

UK Gear is now working on an indoor gym shoe, also tested by the army, which may be developed once the PT-03 project has been assessed, according to Hinde.
