Design shows apply for Arts Council cash

The Design Museum is hoping for a slice of a 250 000 grant being distributed by the Arts Council. The museum submitted ideas for exhibitions with an architectural flavour to the Arts Council last Friday.

The council’s architecture unit was allocated the cash in June as part of its revenue funds from Parliament.”We want to encourage architectural content in venues,” says the unit director Rory Coonan, who has “no idea” how many projects will be funded.

Coonan will meet with Design Museum director Paul Thompson on 12 September to look at the museum’s proposals.
