Carte Blanche creates Act Three for Allders

Retail design consultancy Carte Blanche is designing a new women’s and youth fashion floor at the Portsmouth branch of department store Allders, in a bid to create a more contemporary shopping environment and space for a wider selection of young fashion brands.

The store’s first floor will be home to Act Three, a youth-oriented department. It hopes to expand its brand output to include Warehouse and Miss Selfridge, among others. Carte Blanche creative director Su Davies says the group aims to create a less cluttered environment for shoppers, with greater focus on the in-store brands.

The project will be undertaken in two phases, the second will take the shape of a classic fashion department for older women, incorporating a hair and beauty salon and café. The first phase is expected to be completed by October.

Allders hopes to roll out the Act Three format to further stores across the country after Christmas.
