The convergence of two professions will benefit both

David Worthington

In response to your recent question on this page, ’What do you think a merger with the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment would bring to the Design Council?’ (Voxpop, DW 3 February), ask not what Cabe will bring to the Design Council, but what both organisations will bring to each other and how that will benefit their constituencies.

Scale and efficiencies are evident, the abilityto retain Bow Street – an unique London design asset – a possibility.

However, the real value lies in the convergence of two design professions: new people, ideas, projects and skills in an exciting, multidisciplinary space. I think it is a great idea.
