Liverpool has a new bar, intended to be cool, calm and understated, called XS. Interiors are by Judge Gill Associates and the graphics by Via Design. The interiors of the two-floor bar are deliberately clean and fresh, says a Judge Gill Associates spokeswoman. XS is the first bar venture for client John Field.

A pre-mixed version of established spirit brand Taboo launches to the public at the end of this month, with packaging by Planet. Taboo Spicer is a line extension which adds wine, fruit juice, vodka and a twist of ginger to the original drink. Sold in a 275ml bottle, the drink attempts to ‘communicate a modern fresh taste alternative to the Taboo brand’, says Planet creative director Bill Wallsgrove. It retains the double branding common to Taboo products.
