Nesta endows award winner

Chelsea College of Art graduate Helen Amy Murray has won the first National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts Prize for Innovation, in association with the Crafts Council.

Murray’s designs involve manipulating fabrics to create 3D surfaces and judges praised ‘her clever use of materials’.

Tate Britain has commissioned Murray to create a range of merchandise and she is also talking to Liberty about using her fabric designs for its soft furnishings.
