BBC should stay true to its values to retain our respect

Regarding your Voxpop (DW 10 June) relating to the major branding challenges the BBC faces following its strategy review, I feel that it needs to get itself out of the news.

If it could get its wranglings and reviews off-air and out of the press, then maybe the chattering classes will forget about eavesdropping on its problems long enough to admire the programming and content (provided there is enough there for us to admire).

BBC Trust tells us we admire ’the cultural and public space which isn’t trying to sell anything and can be trusted’. This is the vision they need to convey in all that they produce to regain our affection.
