Bank receives Curious makeover

Curious has completed a brand strategy and identity overhaul for investment bank Close Brothers Corporate Finance.

The consultancy was appointed to the work six months ago, following a five-way pitch, thought to include Wolff Olins and Design Motive.

The brief encompasses the redesign of the visual identity, a corporate brochure, stationery and a website, www.cbcf.com.

CBCF is part of the UK’s largest independent investment company, Close Brothers Group. According to Curious director John Hall, CBCF was keen to align the way it appears visually with the way management feel it is perceived in the marketplace.

‘It is very hard to arrive at points of differentiation in the investment banking sector, so we needed to probe beneath the surface to find ways that a company such as CBCF can stand out from the crowd,’ says Hall. ‘It is to do with its way of working, imagination and cosmopolitan approach.’

Alongside the visual changes, CBCF is embarking on internal behavioural shifts that will reflect its new identity, says Hall.

The branding and website launch this week, rolling out across the London and continental European offices.
